The PeaceCake Café

Peace Cake Salads

We offer a whole range of food: spicy, savoury and sweet. We aim to be fair trade where possible, usually organic and always delicious! We can offer light cooked meals, salads, spicy snacks, cakes, teas chai etc. We cater for vegans, wheat and dairy free too.

The key to our service is our lovely canvas marquee (from 20'x30' to 30'x70'): it has a cosy cushioned and carpeted area with a wood- burning stove if it's chilly; an area with tables and chairs, which can be under canvas or outside, depending on the conditions. A feature we especially enjoy are the windows all round which help to create an open airy space.

In 2004 we ran our first very successful chillout café at the Permaculture Woodland Gathering in Lincolnshire. We hosted an eco- cinema, and a discussion in Deep Ecology. We are both Permaculture design graduates and our focus is on the people care aspect of Permaculture. Our passion is for creating environments in which people feel both nurtured and energised.

Last year we were at the three Gaia Tribe camps, plus the Chopwell Forest Festival, the Oakleaf Camp and Solfest. We also can cater for wedding and private functions.

Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements, we will do our best to cater for them.

We hope to offer child friendly options such as baked potatoes, wholesome pizzas, pasta meals etc. However children can simply have a smaller portion of what's available on the main menu. At present we offer a simple lunch of fresh baked rolls, soup and salad at lunchtime And a more extensive range of salads with a main dish for the evening meal.
