Getting Involved

We are looking for folk who would like to work with us in the Gaia Tribe and in the PeaceCake Café:

Mostly what we can offer is working tickets, whereby you are given a ticket to the event and all for site crew and kitchen crew all your meals are included (the number of hours you work during the event depends on what you are offering).

JOB SPECIFICATION
Pay and hours

This is an unpaid post. In return for your duties you will get free entry to the event.

You will receive all your meals, and in some cases if required we can offer you shared accommodation in our bell tents.
You will be asked to work 4x3 hours shifts. .
We would like you to arrive on the Thursday, the day before the festival starts, so that we can go through health and safety issues and some basic training about the café set up.


Person Specification:
You should be 18 or over
You should be reasonably fit and able to undertake a variety of tasks
If you have a dis-ability you may still be suitable so please discuss this with us.
Love of working with food and people is a real advantage

Duties to include:
1) If you are around for the setting up, that will involve unloading, unpacking, setting out the café infrastructure: kitchen, dining area, decorations etc.
2) Working in the PeaceCake Café: helping with set up, food preparation, serving, clearing away tables, washing up.
3) Take down and packing away (if you are available)

Working in the PeaceCake Café can be full on at times but it is very enjoyable. Our experience of working in an environment which is offering nourishment to people is in itself hugely rewarding. Most of the time we have a lot of fun working as a team, and it is important to us to foster a sense of community. Perhaps most importantly we offer an anchor point to the festival as whole. We hope that all the team will camp in a shared space near the café marquee (if you want to that is). We will also have exclusive use of a toilet (that has got to be worth a bit!).
